Get started in 3 steps

No technical knowledge needed. If you can turn on a computer, you can use MailDrop.

1

Click the button below

Download starts automatically. File saves to your Downloads folder.

2

Double-click the file

The installer opens. Just click 'Next' and 'Install'.

3

Open MailDrop

A desktop shortcut is created. The app walks you through the first run.

💡 Windows may show a warning the first time

If you see a "Windows protected your PC" warning, click "More info" → "Run anyway". MailDrop is safe, built by Bilgetek. The warning appears because the app is not Microsoft-signed yet (signing is costly, this is common for free apps).

Frequently asked questions

Is MailDrop really free?
Yes. It is MIT-licensed and open source, with no fee, subscription or per-contact limit. The source is public on GitHub, so you can inspect it or build it yourself.
Does my contact list leave my computer?
No. MailDrop runs on your machine and sends through your own email account. Your list stays on your device; it is not sent to us or any other service.
Which email accounts does it work with?
Any account with SMTP access: Gmail, Outlook and most corporate mail. For corporate accounts, your IT team can give you the server details.
How many people can I send to at once?
The limit comes from your email provider, not from MailDrop; daily quotas differ by provider and change over time. Check your own provider's documentation. MailDrop lets you control sending speed and pause or resume, so you do not burn through your quota in one go.
Will my emails land in spam?
No application can guarantee otherwise; delivery depends largely on your sending address's reputation, the quality of your list and the content of the message. To reduce the risk, send only to people you know have opted in, keep your list current, start with small batches and remove bouncing addresses.
What are my obligations under data protection rules?
Consent from recipients and the handling of their data are your responsibility as the sender. If you send commercial messages, you generally need prior opt-in and an unsubscribe option in every message. MailDrop is a tool; it does not establish the legal basis for your list.
