MailDrop Privacy Policy

1. Data controller and scope

MailDrop is developed and provided for free by Bilgetek (Istanbul, Türkiye). This notice applies only to the MailDrop desktop app. For site-wide cookie information, see the Bilgetek Cookie Policy.

2. Core principle: local-first processing

MailDrop runs on your computer. Your contact list, email templates and send history are stored in a local SQLite database. This data is not sent to Bilgetek servers or third parties.

3. Your own SMTP account

Sending happens directly through the email (SMTP) account you configure. Your SMTP password is stored encrypted in your operating system's secure storage (Windows DPAPI / macOS Keychain) and is never transmitted to Bilgetek.

4. What we do NOT collect

• No telemetry or usage statistics.
• Your contact list, email content or send reports never reach our servers.
• No account, signup or personal identity data is requested.
• No third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

5. Download and updates

MailDrop is downloaded and updated via GitHub. During download, GitHub's own server logs (e.g. IP) may be kept by GitHub; this is subject to GitHub's privacy policy and is outside Bilgetek's access.

6. Your responsibility

You are the data controller for the emails you send and the personal data (recipient lists) you process. KVKK / GDPR obligations toward your recipients rest with you.

7. Updates
