PRIVACY POLICY

Your data stays on your device.

Effective date: June 1, 2026. BulkPro is a local-first application; the files you process never reach our servers. Below we explain what minimum data we collect, what we never collect, and how to opt out.

Data controller

What we collect (minimum)

BulkPro only collects the following for the app to function. Everything is anonymous and fully isolated from your file content.

  • Anonymous device hash (SHA-256 of hardware signature, not reversible to the user): for license uniqueness.
  • App version number: to trigger compatibility and security updates.
  • A single 'heartbeat' request on first launch: to know the app is still in use.

Even this is not mandatory. One click in Settings → Privacy turns it off; when off, the app runs fully offline.

What we do NOT collect

  • File content: not a single byte of your PDFs, Excels, images, video or audio reaches our servers.
  • Filenames or file paths.
  • User identity, email, name, company info: no signup required.
  • Browser/cookie-based tracking: desktop app, no cookies.
  • Keyboard, mouse, screen, microphone, camera capture: zero.
  • Third-party ad networks: no SDKs integrated.

AI module data flow

OCR, background removal, Whisper transcription and every other AI feature run on local models. Models are downloaded on first use and then keep working offline.

  • No AI operation makes an API call.
  • Your audio, image, text never leaves your device.
  • If a GPU is available, models run on the local GPU; otherwise CPU.

Third parties

  • Cloudflare: site CDN (static files). Cloudflare keeps standard connection metadata, which does not include your file content.
  • GitHub Releases: installer download. GitHub's privacy policy applies there.
  • python.org: Python embeddable runtime download during install.

Data retention

Heartbeat data (device hash + version) is kept for at most 12 months; its sole purpose is rough usage estimation and security update coordination. It is auto-deleted at the end of that period.

Your rights

You can disable heartbeat, request deletion of your existing data, or ask for a summary of records we keep about you. Write to [email protected] and we'll reply within 30 days.

Policy updates

When this policy changes meaningfully, the effective date is updated and a summary is shown to the user on next app launch.
