Website builder or a custom-built site?
You can build your own site with Wix, Squarespace, a WordPress theme or something similar. For some businesses that genuinely is the right answer. This page sets out which option makes sense when.
The short answer
If the site is essentially a signboard and you have time to tinker, a builder is enough. If the site is meant to bring in customers, needs to show up in search, or needs a structure specific to your sector, custom is the better call.
Side by side
| Topic | Website builder | Custom build |
|---|---|---|
| Upfront cost | USD 10-30 a month | A one-off fee from ₺9,900 |
| Setup time | A few days to a few weeks if you do it yourself | A few days for one page, one to two weeks for a corporate site |
| Whose time | Yours. Design, copy and structure are on you | Ours. We write the base copy too |
| Speed and technical SEO | Depends on the template; usually carries extra scripts | Only the code you need; speed and search readiness built in |
| KVKK and privacy texts | You have to produce them yourself | Included in the package |
| Portability | You are tied to the platform; the site does not come with you | The domain and site are yours; deployable to your own hosting |
| Long-run cost | The subscription never stops | Care plan optional (₺2,400/mo); otherwise just hosting |
When a builder is the right choice
We say this without a sales motive: in the cases below you do not need to pay us.
- Your budget is very tight and for now the site just needs to exist.
- You are testing an idea and are not sure you will still be doing the same thing in six months.
- You enjoy building sites and tinkering does not tire you.
- You want to change content constantly, yourself, without asking anyone.
When custom is the right choice
- The site has to bring in customers. Showing up in search is a matter of structure, not template choice.
- Your sector has its own requirements: bar-association advertising rules, health regulations, booking flows, listing structures.
- You have no time to tinker and want the finished thing delivered.
- You would rather not stay tied to a platform's rules and price rises long term.
WordPress is its own case
WordPress is not a builder but a content management system. Set up properly it is powerful, but the upkeep falls to you: plugin updates, security patches, backups. Neglected WordPress sites turn into a security problem sooner or later. We prefer static builds because the surface that can break is far smaller; where regular content updates are needed we agree the approach up front.
