Image Converter

Converts images into a different format. Supports WebP, JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG, ICO, PDF, BMP, TIFF, PSD, EPS. You can convert many files at once.

What it does

Use this to turn iPhone HEIC photos into JPG, convert PNGs to WebP for your site, save a logo as PDF, or migrate an old TIFF archive to modern formats. To shrink without changing format, use Image Compressor instead.

How to use

  1. Drag images into the list.
  2. Pick a Target Format.
  3. Adjust Quality / Compression (default 85%).
  4. Adjust the other options if needed.
  5. Click Run.

You get one new file per input, in the chosen format.

Picking a format

FormatWhen to pick it
WebPModern web standard, small + good quality. For websites.
JPGUniversal, ideal for photos. No transparency.
PNGSupports transparency, good for screenshots and logos.
GIFAnimation or very small palettes.
PDFShare an image as if it were a document.
SVGVector graphics (no quality loss).
ICOFor Windows icon use.
BMPLegacy software compatibility.
TIFFHigh-quality archiving.
HEICOnly accepted as input (for iPhone photos).

Settings

  • Quality / Compression (10-100): Matters for lossy formats like JPG and WebP. 85% is balanced. PNG ignores this.
  • Extra Optimization: A little smaller file, a little more time.
  • Preserve Metadata: Carries EXIF, capture date and similar info over to the new file. Off means metadata is wiped.
  • Fill Transparency with White: When converting PNG to JPG, transparent areas become white (JPG cannot store transparency).

Examples

iPhone photos into JPG: Add the HEIC photos, Target JPG, quality 90%, run. Opens on every computer.

PNGs into WebP for a website: Add the PNGs, Target WebP, quality 85%, Preserve Metadata off, run. Fast-loading small files.

Logo PNG into PDF: Add the logo, Target PDF, run. Ready to drop into documents.

Old TIFF archive into a modern format: Add the TIFFs, Target WebP, quality 95%, run. Smaller files, quality kept.

Watch out

  • Converting to JPG loses transparency (becomes white).
  • Vector to raster (SVG to JPG/PNG) loses scalability; raster to vector is not really possible.
  • ICO works best for square images at small sizes.
  • HEIC conversion needs the right libraries installed on your machine.
  • Very large TIFF/PSD files take a while.
