Disk Cleaner (Sanitizer)

Cleans temp files, browser cache, app junk, privacy traces, and unwanted startup programs. A wide-ranging system tool.

What it does

Use this to free up disk space, speed up the computer, wipe browser history for privacy, disable apps that auto-start, or find very large and duplicate files to remove.

How to use

Five modes:

Scan

  2. Keep Dry run on first to preview what would be deleted.
  3. Click Scan.
  4. Review the results, pick categories.
  5. Turn Dry run off and click Clean Selected.

Analyzer

Examples

System cleanup: System profile, Dry run on, Scan. 12 GB of temp files found. Approve, turn Dry run off, Clean Selected. 12 GB freed.

Privacy cleanup: Browser + Privacy profile, Scan, Clean. Browsing history, cookies, autofill all gone.

Find the biggest files on disk: Analyzer mode. Lists the top 100 biggest files. Delete what you do not need.

Reduce startup programs: Startup mode. Disable Spotify, Adobe, OneDrive auto-start. The computer boots faster.

Secure delete

For sensitive files you can overwrite with 1, 3 or 35 passes (DoD/Gutmann). Even forensic tools cannot recover them.

Watch out

  • Dry run is on by default, you must turn it off and confirm for real deletion. There is a 5-second confirmation prompt.
  • Browser cleanup requires the browser to be closed, otherwise it is skipped.
  • Deleted files do not go to the Recycle Bin, they are gone.
  • System files are not touched, only user data and temp areas.
  • Big cleanups can take minutes.

Full use is Ultimate only. The Office plan has limited categories, the Free tier has tight limits.
