Disk Cleaner (Sanitizer)

Scans and cleans junk files on your PC (temp files, browser cache, recycle bin, privacy traces); a separate mode finds and removes duplicate (identical) files in a folder. Simple and clear.

What it does

Use this to free up disk space, clear accumulated junk, wipe browser cache and recent-use traces for privacy, or find and remove duplicate copies of the same file in a folder.

How to use

The tool has two modes: System junk and Duplicate files.

System junk

1. Press Scan; the tool scans the categories.
2. Results are listed per category (Temporary files, Browser cache, Recycle Bin, Recent items and traces, Browser cookies, Needs caution).
3. Safe categories are checked by default; the "needs caution" ones (Windows.old, logs) are checked manually.
4. Press Clean selected; it reports how much space was freed.

Duplicate files

1. Pick a folder and scan it.
2. Files with identical content (compared by hash) are listed in groups.
3. In each group the first file is kept and the copies are marked for deletion.
4. Press Delete selected to remove the extras and free space.

Examples

Free up space fast: System junk mode, Scan, safe categories selected, Clean selected.

Privacy cleanup: System junk mode, select "Browser cache" and "Recent items and traces" and clean them.

Find copies in a backup pile: Duplicate files mode, scan the backup folder, keep one from each group and delete the rest.

Things to watch

• The "needs caution" categories (Windows.old, old logs) are off by default; be sure of what you delete.
• For duplicates, keep at least one from each group; the tool keeps the first automatically.
• Deletion is permanent; if unsure, review the list first.
