Focus Mode

Runs Pomodoro or deep-work sessions. Blocks distracting apps/sites, keeps stats.

What it does

Use this to break work into focused chunks, auto-block social media clicks, track how focused you are, and keep your motivation up.

How to use

Five tabs:

Timer

  1. Pick a preset (Pomodoro or Deep Work) or set your own durations.
  2. Click Start.
  3. Work and break phases cycle automatically.

Sessions

See your past sessions and create new presets.

Blocker

Add apps (games, chat) and sites (social media) that should be blocked during work.

Stats

Daily/weekly focus time, completed sessions, your most productive hours.

Journal

Leave a short note after each session.

You can customise durations from 1 to 480 minutes.

Keyboard shortcuts

  • Space: Start/Pause
  • R: Reset phase
  • S: Skip phase
  • Esc: Cancel session

Block strategies

  • App blocking: Closes running blocked apps (games, chat) automatically.
  • Site blocking: Blocks sites like social media in the browser (uses hosts file).

Examples

Pomodoro for studying: Pick the Pomodoro preset, Start. 25 min work, 5 min break, repeat 4 times.

90-minute deep work: Deep Work preset, Blocker set to block Instagram and YouTube, start.

Custom work session: Timer with work 50 min, break 10 min, cycles 3, start.

Measure your productivity: Stats tab shows daily/weekly summary.

Watch out

  • Site blocking needs admin rights (writes to the hosts file). The app prompts for it.
  • When blocking kicks in, currently running blocked apps close, unsaved work may be lost.
  • If the computer shuts down or the app crashes, the blocking is auto-cleaned up.
  • Use Pause to step away mid-session, stopping affects your stats.

License

Free tier has a daily session cap. Office and Ultimate plans remove it.
