PDF to Image
Converts every page of a PDF into PNG, JPEG or WEBP images. You choose the resolution and quality, and the tool can process many PDFs at once.
What it does
Use this to drop PDF pages into a slide deck as images, show previews on a website, share screenshots on social media, or build a visual archive. Each page becomes a separate image file.
How to use
- Drag PDFs into the list. Adding a folder queues every PDF inside it.
- Pick an Output Format: PNG, JPEG or WEBP.
- Set a Resolution (DPI). The default 300 DPI is fine for most uses.
- Set Quality (only meaningful for JPEG and WEBP).
- Click Run.
You get one image per PDF page (e.g. report_page_1.png, report_page_2.png).
Picking a format
| Format | When to pick it |
|---|---|
| PNG | When you need transparency, for slide-heavy pages or screenshots. No quality loss. |
| JPEG | Photo-heavy pages, when you want small files. Slight quality loss. |
| WEBP | Modern web format, small file with high quality. Not every system supports it. |
Picking a DPI
| DPI | Typical use |
|---|---|
| 72-96 | Web preview, quick thumbnails. Text looks blurry. |
| 150 | Email attachments, screen viewing. |
| 300 | Standard print, the default. |
| 600 | Professional print, high-quality archive. Very large files. |
Examples
Cover image for social media: Add the PDF, pick JPEG, 150 DPI, quality 85. You get light web-friendly images.
PDF page inside a slide deck: Add the PDF, pick PNG, 300 DPI. Text is sharp, looks good projected.
Thumbnails for 100 pages: Add the PDF, pick WEBP, 96 DPI, quality 70. Tiny fast-loading previews.
Convert every PDF in a folder: Add the folder, pick PNG, 300 DPI. Every page of every PDF gets converted.
Watch out
- Each page becomes a separate file. A 100-page PDF = 100 images.
- 600 DPI produces huge files. Only use it if you need it for print.
- Quality on PNG does not change visual quality, only file size.
- Every page is converted, you cannot pick a page range. Use PDF Split first if you only need some pages.
- Encrypted PDFs are not handled. Unlock them with PDF Encrypt first.
